The Staff Selection Commission has released the SSC GD Vacancy 2026 for General Duty Constable posts along with the notification on 1st December 2025. The vacancies has been released category-wise and force-wise, which are also shared below.
This year, Staff Selection Commission had announced 23467 vacancies for males in BSF, CISF, CRPF, SSB, ITBP, AR, and SSF forces and 2020 vacancies for females in BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP, and AR forces. SSC GD Constable Eligibility Criteria

Only the candidates who fulfill the required eligibility criteria as mentioned by the commission are eligible to apply for SSC GD 2026 for Constable posts in BSF, CISF, CRPF, SSB, ITBP, AR, SSF, and NCB. The education qualification, age limit, and other criteria are mentioned below- SSC GD Educational Qualification Candidates applying for GD Constable (BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSF, SSB, and riflemen) must have passed 10th class or equivalent from a recognized board. SSC GD Age Limit (as on 01/01/2026) Candidate is required to be between 18 to 23 years in order to be eligible for the SSC GD 2026 Exam. How to Apply for the SSC GD 2026 Exam?

  1. Go to the official SSC website: ssc.gov.in.
  2. Once on the homepage, navigate to the “Apply” section and click on the “Apply” link.
  3. If you’re a new user, you need to register yourself.
  4. Please provide the following details: your name, date of birth, email address, and mobile number.
  5. Upon successful registration, you’ll receive a Registration ID and password. Note them down for future use.
  6. Use your Registration ID and password to log in. Find the link for the SSC GD 2026 Exam and click on “Apply”.
  7. Fill in details like name, father’s name, mother’s name, category, gender, nationality, etc.
  8. Enter your educational details such as the name of the school/college, board/university, marks obtained, etc.
  9. Select your preferred exam centres from the list provided.
  10. Upload a recent passport-sized colour photograph and signature (usually in JPEG format and within the specified size).
  11. Pay the application fee using net banking, or debit/credit card.

SSC GD Constable 2026 Selection Process

The entire recruitment process of SSC GD 2026 will be completed in four stages: Computer Based Test (CBT), Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and at the last the Medical Test. The candidates will be shortlisted for SSC GD Constable posts in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), NIA, SSF, Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles and Sepoy in Narcotics Control Bureau. through the following stages-

Stage 1- Written examination (Computer Based)

Stage 2- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Stage 3- Physical Standard Test (PST)

Stage 4- Medical Test

After the medical test, the candidates shortlisted will have to appear for document verification.

SSC GD Constable 2026 Exam Pattern

In this section, the pattern for each stage has been discussed. The candidates who are going to appear in SSC GD Recruitment 2026 must be familiar with the exam pattern. There will be 4 sections in the online exam to be attempted in 60 minutes. 0.25 marks will be deducted when a question is answered wrong. There will be no penalty if the question is left unanswered. For the Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

The candidate must be efficient enough to finish the race within the time limit as mentioned in the below table. The limit has been set differently for candidates of the Ladakh region. However, there is some relaxation provided for candidates belonging to hilly areas, scheduled tribes, north-eastern states, Left Wing Extremism-affected districts, and Gorkha Territorial Administration. Chest measurement for female candidates has not been included in the Physical Standard Test, however, the chest should be well developed.
Weight should be proportionate to the height and the medical standard for males and female
Note: Physical Standard Test (PST)/ Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/ Detailed Medical Examination (DME)/ Review Medical Examination (RME) will be scheduled and concluded by CAPFs.
