SSC MTS Recruitment

Every year, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff and Havaldar (CBIC & CBN) Examination to recruit candidates for General Central Service Group-C non-gazetted, non-ministerial posts in various ministries, departments, and offices of the Government of India. For the year 2025-26, SSC has announced a total of 7948 vacancies, out of which 6810 are MTS vacancies and 1138 are Havaldar vacancies.
The SSC MTS Exam Date 2025 has been officially announced on 2nd January 2026 along with self-slot selection date. As per the notice, the SSC MTS Exam is to be held from 4th February 2026 onwards. The Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff (MTS) Examination is a national-level exam conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) to recruit candidates for various non-technical positions in different ministries, departments, and offices of the Government of India. Every year, lakhs of SSC aspirants, after completing their 10th class, appear for the exam to get shortlisted. Staff Selection Commission conducts the SSC MTS (Multi-Tasking Staff and Havaldar Exam) every year, and the selection process is as follows:
Paper 1 (online) for both MTS and Havaldar posts
PET/ PST (only for the post of Havaldar)

SSC MTS 2025 Exam

The selection process for the SSC MTS 2025 Exam comprises the written exam and physical exam (only for the post of Havaldar). The candidates shortlisted for multi-tasking staff posts are salaried with Pay Level-1 as per the Pay Matrix of the 7th Pay Commission with basic pay of Rs. 5,200-20,200 + Grade Pay Rs. 1,800.

SSC MTS Exam Date 2025 Out

The official announcement regarding the exam date for the Multi-Tasking (NonTechnical) Staff, and Havaldar (CBIC & CBN) has been made on 2nd January 2026. As announced, the exam is scheduled from 4th February 2026 onwards. The self slot selection will start from 15th January 2026 onwards. The details regarding the exam will be released along with the admit card.

SSC MTS 2025 Eligibility Criteria

There are three major criteria that a candidate is required to fulfill to be eligible for the SSC MTS 2025 Exam. Before filling out the applications for SSC MTS Exam, the candidates must know the minimum required in terms of nationality, education qualification, and age limit. Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS)- A candidate must be a minimum of 18 years of age and must not exceed 25 years of age.
Havaldar Age Limit- A candidate must be of a minimum of 18 years of age and must not exceed 27 years of age.

Educational Qualification

A candidate is required to pass Matriculation (10th class) or its equivalent Exam from a recognised State Board, University or Institute to be eligible to apply for SSC MTS 2025 Exam. There is no minimum percentage requirement in class 10th. SSC MTS 2025 Language for CBT For the first time, the SSC MTS computer-based exam will be held in “English, Hindi and 13 regional languages” and the candidates have to choose their choice of language while filling out their application form.

SSC MTS 2025 Application Form

The SSC MTS Online Application process has started at the official website www.ssc.gov.in from 26th June 2025, along with the release of the notification PDF. Candidates interested in applying for 1075 vacancies for Havaldar can submit their application form through the official website of SSC at https://ssc.gov.in/. To avoid last-minute technical glitches, candidates are advised to submit their application form before the last date arrives, which is 24th July 2025 (11 pm).

SSC MTS Havaldar 2025 Application Fee

The Application Fee for SSC MTS 2025 is Rs. 100/-. The payment of the application fee can be made only through online payment modes such as Net-Banking, Credit/Debit cards and BHIM, UPI etc. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD/Ex-servicemen category are exempted from paying the application fee. In addition to this, female candidates are also exempted from paying the application fee. How to Fill SSC MTS Havaldar Online Application Form? The candidates can apply online through the official website with the help of the steps given below: Do visit the official website of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) i.e. www.ssc.gov.in. Click on the “Apply” button at the right corner of the homepage and then click on the link for “Multi Tasking (NonTechnical) Staff, and Havaldar (CBIC & CBN) Examination 2025”. Register for the exam. Now, proceed to fill out the application form including your educational qualification, age, category, exam center etc. Pay the application fee. Take the printout of the application form for future reference.

SSC MTS Havaldar 2025 Selection Process

The eligible candidates for SSC Multi Tasking Staff recruitment will be shortlisted based on three stages. A candidate needs to qualify in each stage with marks more than the cut-off announced. The three stages to be cleared are as below-
Stage 1- Paper-1 (Computer Based Examination)
Stage 2- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/ Physical Standard Test (PST) (only for the post of Havaldar)

SSC MTS 2025 Exam Pattern

SSC MTS 2025 will be examined in 2 different levels: Paper-1, PET/PST (only for havaldar). Paper 1 is an online exam that is an objective multiple-choice question type. SSC MTS Havaldar Paper-1 Exam Pattern The revised SSC MTS Paper 1 Exam Pattern has been shared by the officials last yea. The Paper 1 pattern is the same for both posts There will be a Computer-Based Examination which is divided in 2 Sessions. Session-I and Session-II and both the Sessions will be mandatory to be attempted. There will be a negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer in Session 2 and there will be no negative marking in Session 1. Note: The SSC MTS written exam is divided into 2 sections. SSC MTS 2025 Salary

The Staff Selection Commission will hold a competitive examination for recruitment of Multi Tasking Staff in Pay Band-1 (Rs 5200-20200) + Grade Pay Rs 1800, (Revised Pay Scale after 7th CPC: Pay Level in Pay Matrix – Level-1), a General Central Service Group „C‟ Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial post in various Ministries/ Departments/ Offices of the Government of India, in different States/ Union Territories. According to the 7th pay commission, the in-hand SSC MTS salary lies in the range of 18,000/ to 22,000/ per month with a pay band of (Rs. 5200 – 20200) depending of the job post and city allocated.

SSC MTS 2025 Exam Centre

SSC conducts SSC MTS Exam every year at various centres all across the country. Candidates are given the option to select the center of their choice while filling in the application form. The final allotment of the centre by SSC is done based on the choice of the candidate. If in any case there is an unavailability of seats in the selected Centre, SSC will change the location as per availability. Candidates do not hold the authority to question SSC for the same.

SSC MTS 2025 Answer Key

Staff Selection Commission will upload the SSC MTS Tier 1 Answer Key on the official website around a month after the exam is conducted. SSC MTS Provisional Answer Key is released first followed by the final answer key. No answer key will be released for the SSC MTS Tier-2 and Skill test. The candidates have to download the SSC MTS Answer Key using their registration number & password from the official website only

SSC MTS 2025 Cut-Off

SSC MTS Cut-off is the minimum score that aspirants taking the exam will have to obtain in order to move to the next stage of the exam. The cutoff will be released twice, first for Paper 1 (Tier-1) and second for Paper 2(Tier-2). Cutoffs are released along with the result declaration
